Thank You for Supporting our 2014 Mission Team

I would like to thank you all for your support and your prayers for our mission team as we stepped out of our homes to see the world. Looking back, I never really thought changing one life would make much of a difference in the world. There may not be any immediate evolution in the lives of everyone in Romania, but I am positive that those three dozen kids who opened up to us, learning to trust in our support over the ten days in Zerand, will grow up to be a gift of the Lord to their people. I know there will one day be a difference in the many lives and hearts of them all, and God’s Church will grow from our short stay. If it is in his will, I wish to return to them one day and see if all we taught them stayed, and how it will bloom inside of them to make them whole. I thank you for making a difference in my life also through your continued support, and I hope maybe you also might be able to see how even a small offering can change the lives of many.

February Calendar News

Still Winter

February begins to warm, but there is

still winter weather, which means the

gardens will have to wait another

month. Farmers like Silviu grow

produce in heated greenhouses,

providing much needed vegetables

in the winter months.

Food Staples

EMCA provides food staples to over

100 families during the course of the

year. The need is especially great this

time of year with less from the family

gardens.

Maria Medrea

Give thanks for Maria this month as

she celebrates a birthday on the 15th.

She is the “M” in Emmanuel-Maria

and provides has given much of

herself to this ministry.

Dragobetele

We know what real love is because

Jesus gave up his life for us. So we

also ought to give up our lives for our

brothers and sisters. If someone has

enough money to live well and sees

a brother or sister[f] in need but shows

no compassion—how can God’s

love be in that person? 1 John 3:16-17

Winters in Romania are harsh, cloudy and very cold between December and March, with snow falling throughout most of the country. The lowest temperatures are in January (or February, in the mountain areas). Those who donate winter clothes are especially needed in this season.

1 January

Happy New Year! Romania celebrates for two days. Pray for the country and its people as they enter this new year.

15 January

Celebrate George Medrea’s birthday today: fix something around your house and pray for God’s blessing for him and his family.

24 January

Unification Day: it celebrates the day of the political union between Wallachia and Moldavia, the foundation of modern Romania.
