I would like to thank you all for your support and your prayers for our mission team as we stepped out of our homes to see the world. Looking back, I never really thought changing one life would make much of a difference in the world. There may not be any immediate evolution in the lives of everyone in Romania, but I am positive that those three dozen kids who opened up to us, learning to trust in our support over the ten days in Zarand, will grow up to be a gift of the Lord to their people. I know there will one day be a difference in the many lives and hearts of them all, and God’s Church will grow from our short stay. If it is in his will, I wish to return to them one day and see if all we taught them stayed, and how it will bloom inside of them to make them whole. I thank you for making a difference in my life also through your continued support, and I hope maybe you also might be able to see how even a small offering can change the lives of many.

Journal of the 2014 Mission

As we embark on our next E.C.C. mission trip on August 21, 2014, the 9th year of Emmanuel’s connection with Romania, we are developing plans for some big events and tasks.

There is a huge need for the purchase of a serviceable used van for the mission in and around Arad. The van is used continually to deliver supplies to the shut-ins, the needy, and the poor families. While the entire goal hasn’t been reached, we will be making a significant contribution towards the purchase.

While we are there we will have one major work project. It is establishing a playground area for children to safely play in Zarand.

These projects are not without cost. The van is estimated to cost about $8,000 US for a vehicle that will give good service for the foreseeable future. The playground is estimated at $800-$1,000.

Unlike the past few mission trips to Romania, the team will be staying in the village of Seleus.jud.Arad, Romania. A great benefit is that the team will be assimilated into village life for the short time that we are there. We will see, up close what the hard life of the local farmers and workers is like. They will experience the day-to-day life of the Romanian people that we are called to help.

We will also be traveling to other villages and presenting VBS to the children and the love of Jesus to those that He directs us to. VBS is a major focus of this trip and we will hold it for 5 mornings in Zarand where we anticipate 80 children from the local area. We will sing, play games, do crafts and bring the Love of Jesus to all.

Afternoons will be spent visiting outlying villages where we will see families, widows, and shut-ins. The team will hold modified VBS style crafts sessions at many of the stops.

We will return to New Hampshire on September 2nd.
